Since 1969, the BMW plant in Berlin Spandau has been building motorcycles. These BMW motorcycles were then exported to 130 nations all over the world.
BMW Motorcycles Q1 Report
BMW released their Q1 sales statement Wednesday, reporting a 11.4-percent rise in sales over the same period last period.
In total, 25,049 BMW and Husqvarna brand motorcycles were sold during the first three months of 2011; 23,109 BMW brand (+ 10.9%) and 1,940 Husqvarna brand motorcycles (+ 18.4%).

BMW’s very own Pieter de Waal, Vice President, BMW Motorrad USA has the honors of explaining the significance of this new BMW superbike. Pieter, an avid motorcyclist, spent several years in Berlin at the BMW headquarters and still remains on the board that is responsible for developing new product, so he has close ties to the details of the new 2010 BMW S 1000 RR superbike.
In 2009 the BMW Berlin plant can look back on a 40-year tradition as the production site for BMW motorcycles, with over 1.9 million BMW motorcycles having come off the assembly line to date. With the anniversary motorcycle "40 years of Berlin" based on the BMW roadster R 1200 R, BMW Motorrad not only celebrates its 40th anniversary of production at the Berlin-Spandau plant but will also support the children’s rights organisation "Save the Children" by auctioning the exclusive motorcycle on eBay.
