Honda CRF Family of Bikes | QuickShift

To secure the appropriate riding pal for everybody in the clan, perhaps your family should meet the Honda CRF family of dirt bikes geared to every age and skill level. Each member is loaded with cool features and powered by a single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with chain final drive.

The little guy is the CRF50, a child-sized machine with a 49cc engine and a sophisticated inverted fork. Most importantly for the kids, it weighs just 104 pounds dry, features an ultra-low 21.6-inch seat height, and has a three-speed transmission with automatic clutch for easy riding.

For the bigger kids, consider that the CRF100F offers a 99cc engine with a broad powerband and a seat height of 30.9 inches. They’ll appreciate the control available through the manual clutch and five-speed transmission. Each year, the CRF100F gets new racebike-inspired CRF graphics. (Click images to enlarge)

Those who are starting to get serious will be interested in the CRF230F, a full-sized bike with a 233cc engine and six-speed transmission. For comfort and control, it offers 9.5 inches of front suspension travel, and 9.0 inches in the rear. All riders will appreciate the electric starter.

Finally, the experienced rider/racer will gravitate toward the CRF250X, a full-sized bike for serious pilots. It’s powered by a 249cc engine with five-speed transmission, and offers 12.4 inches of suspension travel front and rear. The 250X weighs 250 pounds dry for easy handling in the dirt, and that 37.9-inch seat height means that only the long of leg should apply. (Click image to enlarge)

Rock-reliable and easy to maintain, these CRF siblings will help build skills and provide years of off-roading fun. And like they say, the family that plays together stays together.
