Ducati Island at Circuit of the Americas
Last year marked the 18th consecutive Ducati Island event at Laguna Seca MotoGP.
But with Laguna Seca dropped from the MotoGP schedule due to financial woes, Ducatisti will still have the chance to vista another Desmo-loving event in 2014, this one in Texas.
Ducati, which will field factory riders Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso on the GP13, reports that due to the overwhelming success of the inaugural MotoGP race at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) last year, the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer will bring Ducati Island to Austin this year (April 11-13).
Ducati Island is open to everyone in attendance, but a special ticket package includes reserved grandstand seats at Turn 12, motorcycle parking and a track walk, among others.
Ducati says: “Nestled between turns 18 and 19, Ducati Island will descend upon COTA’s ‘Grand Plaza,’ which is centrally located within the facility, in close proximity to the racetrack ticket office and main fan entrance.
“Guests will be treated to an entertaining blend of technical demonstrations, new product displays, legendary fashion shows, Make-A-Wish Foundation silent auction and access to the Ducati shopping experience. In addition, Ducati owners will receive extra benefits such as personalized gear check and access to the Ducati Owners Hospitality area.”
