2013 Circuit of the Americas in Austin POV Video
At the 2012 Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, Attack Performance Racing out of California participated in the CRT class with wild-card entry Steve Rapp.
Rapp, who filled in for the injured Dane Westby aboard the GEICO Suzuki GSX-R600 in this year’s Daytona 200 (finished 6th), took 14th at Indy.
Attack Performance Racing took this data and experience, and immediately went to work. During the off-season, Attack Performance Racing Team Owner & Crew Chief Richard Stanboli were working around the clock to further optimize the CRT for the 2013 MotoGP season.
For 2013, Attack Performance Racing plans to field AMA Superbike rider Blake Young in all three US rounds – Circuit of the Americans in Austin April 19-21; Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca July 19-21; and Indianapolis Motor Speedway Aug. 16-18.
The team and Young recently participated in some tests at Circuit of the Americas, lapping the newest circuit on the MotoGP schedule. This was Young’s first time using the spec-Bridgestone tires and carbon brakes.
Attached above is a video of Young and World Superbike announcer Jonathan Green as they explain a fast lap around the 3.426-mile circuit containing 20 corners (11 left, nine right).
