With nearly every apparel manufacturer offering Kevlar jeans, the race is on for supremacy.
The AGV Sport Corsica riding jean gets its protection from DuPont Kevlar, which is found throughout the places where protection is needed most — hips, seat, side of legs, knee and shin.
This abrasion-resistant material is hidden behind a heavy 12.5-ounce denim. The look is more American cowboy than Italian flair, which should please most.
As for fit, I typically wear a 34/32, but from experience with other Kevlar jeans, I went with a 36-inch waist.
The five-pocket jeans fit snug — think Levi’s 505 — especially in the thighs. But after a few hours of riding/walking, things loosen up.
The bottom cuffs are slimmer than most, but fit comfortably over boots that are snug to the shins. Our only complaint was with the button fly, which suffered from broken buttons—fortunately, they were covered by a one-year warranty.
