Vincent Black Shadow Proceeds to Benefit PBTF

Las Vegas MidAmerica Motorcycle Auction

The 2012 MidAmerica Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction Jan. 12-14 will feature a very sought-after machine for collectors – a 1952 Vincent Black Shadow Series C.

And whoever takes the Vincent will be providing a huge benefit for society; all proceeds from the sale of the Vincent Black Shadow Series C machine go directly to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, which funds medical research towards the cure for childhood brain tumors as well as support for families of children with brain tumors.

This 1952 Series C Vincent Black Shadow may be the most rideable, original, matching numbers example to come on the market in many years.

Its restoration was overseen and participated in by renowned Vincent experts Dick Busby, Mike Parti, and Haig Altounian. Every aspect of the restoration was done with originality and rideability in mind. Sensible safety and convenient additions like turn signals, an oversized tail/brake lamp, Dave Hill’s custom center stand, and custom saddle by Rich’s Custom Upholstery have been incorporated into the restoration.

All of these items can be removed and returned to original configuration in a day’s work. The original saddle, (also restored by Rich’s) and other original parts are included in the sale of this machine. The comprehensive restoration was completed in 2000 and additional enhancements and fine-tuning were completed in 2009 by Northwest restorer Les Cook.

The restored motorcycle has always been maintained at a very high standard including continuous climate controlled storage. Acquired in 2006, the seller has enjoyed riding the Vincent a few hundred miles per year with absolute reliability. It is a remarkably smooth and powerful machine.

Featured in Classic Bike magazine in May 2001 and also appeared as the centerfold in that publication. A true thoroughbred in every sense, this Vincent is a sublime example that continues to live up to the legend.
