When the Italy Grand Prix at Mugello was complete, Valentino Rossi left round nine of the 2012 MotoGP Championship with his best-ever dry finish with the Ducati Team – fifth.

And this was likely due to the incentive from fans, who showed much support for Rossi at Mugello, tens of thousands of VR46 fans roaring all weekend. In celebration of Rossi’s home race, Monster Energy released a few films, including the one attached above, “Valentino Rossi and the Story of Mugello – Showtime.”

First, Rossi unveiled his specialty-themed AGV helmet at Mugello, something the nine-time World Champion always does at his home race. This year’s helmet had the message of “Restiamo Uniti,” or “Let’s stick together.”

Monster Energy says: “In typical stye it had all the humor and more than enough sub-plots to get the rumor mill churning. Some people interpreted it as a direct reference to his state of mind within the Ducati team; others may know it as a common catchphrase amongst Italian family television courtesy of Gianni Morani who took pride of place on the lid. It quite probably meant both but by no means was it lost on the army of fans who invaded the asphalt on Sunday afternoon as the riders brought their machines back to the pits on the back of a hard fought race.”

Rossi began the race in 10th, but was able to pick off some riders to finish fifth.
