Touratech-USA Adventure
With summer quickly approaching, it’s time to start planning your motorcycle adventures for 2012.
Touratech-USA has the perfect way to get you inspired for one of the best new rides of the year with the second installment of the Backcountry Discovery Route series.
The Utah Backcountry Discovery Route (UTBDR) waterproof map from Butler Motorcycle Maps and expedition DVD by Curbsyde Productions document a scenic driving route across the state of Utah, from Arizona to Idaho, for adventure motorcycles.
The epic 871 mile long south-north route uses mostly un-paved backroads and passes through a number of iconic locations including Moab, Valley of the Gods, the Abajo and La Sal Mountain Ranges, Nine Mile Canyon and the northern Wasatch Mountains.
Paul Guillien (General Manager, Touratech-USA) says: "Utah has so many different landscapes you can ride through in a single day. The sights, smells and geology you feel beneath your tires changes by the hour as you experience the broad array of surroundings. If you are willing to venture beyond the asphalt, this is the best way to get to know the state of Utah."
This exciting documentary gives you an in-depth look into the creation and first expedition of the UTBDR.
Follow a group of riders on adventure touring motorcycles, including KTM 990, BMW F800GS and a BMW R1200GS, as they tackle some of the toughest terrain while traversing the stunning and varied landscape of the Utah backcountry.
From the high mountains of the Abajo to the fierce and rugged terrain of Lockhart Basin, the picture perfect scenery and the exhilarating challenges of riding off-road will no doubt inspire you to load your motorcycle and venture off on your own backcountry adventure.
The UTBDR route was developed by Touratech-USA in partnership with KLIM Technical Riding Gear, Butler Motorcycle Maps, NEMO Tents, WARN Winches, Sidi Boots, BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, Noren Films, Curbsyde Productions, Canyon Lands Jeep Rental, BMW Motorcycles of Utah and The Edge Powersports KTM.
