2012 Desert 100
Since 1969, one race in the Northwest part of the country has continued to challenge off-road motorcyclists – the Desert 100.
And for 2012, the Desert 100, once known as "Mattawa," again attracted many off-road enthusiasts (over 6,000!), including the Touratech-USA crowd of adventure motorcyclists.
Held March 31-April 1 in Odessa, Wash., by the motorcycle club "Stumpjumpers," the Touratech team featured two racers – Touratech Team Manager Paul Guillien aboard a Husqvarna TE 450, and Iain Glynn aboard Touratech’s F 800 GS, the same bike featured in the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route DVD.
Glynn finished third overall in the Adventure class, in which only three finished, showing just how intense the course was for the bigger bikes.Â
