2012 Honda TT Legends
For 2012, the Honda TT Legends team has gained a new sponsor – Motul, a leading company of motorcycle lubricants.
During its second year, the UK-based Honda TT Legends will compete on a factory-backed CBR1000RR, which celebrates its 20th anniversary for 2012. Besides an iconic machine, the Honda TT Legends features an iconic lineup, which includes 17-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinnes, Cameron Donald, British Superstock’s Gary Johnson and the man who took the 2011 fastest TT newcomer award, Simon Andrews.
All four will compete in the FIM Endurance Championship, while McGuinness and Andrews will make a two-man Honda TT Legends Team for the 2012 Isle of Man TT and Northwest 200.
And throughout the races, the CBR will be using Motul 300V Lubricant, which was specifically developed with Honda for the CBR1000RR.
Herve Amelot (Motul’s Managing Director) says: “We are delighted to reinforce our links with motorcycling through our support of Honda Europe’s endurance program. The Honda TT Legends team has assembled an excellent rider line-up for 2012 and, in light of our role as official lubricant supplier to the Isle of Man TT, what better line-up is there to be involved with than the fastest man around that course and the 2011 fastest newcomer?”
Motul already has significant links with the endurance championship through its support of other leading teams including multiple World Champions, SERT. The lubricant specialists use this area of motorsport for extensive research and product development, working hand in hand with its technical partners to “win today and sell tomorrow” by challenging their machinery and technology in extreme conditions and at the limit of tolerances, Motul says.
Motul says such collaboration, together with technical partnerships such as that between Motul and the Honda TT Legends team, is highly beneficial to all parties.
Neil Tuxworth (Honda TT Legends Team Manager) says: “We are really pleased to announce the agreement with Motul. The company has valuable expertise in EWC, so this is an ideal collaboration as the team enters its all-important second year of competition. As an official partner at the TT, Motul is also ideally placed to support the team on the Isle of Man. We are looking forward to seeing the results of the relationship.”Google+
