As part of Yamaha’s media promotion during the Auto Expo in New Delhi, India, Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP’s Jorge Lorenzo greeted racing fans and Indian media.
But the 2010 MotoGP Champion Lorenzo also visited the Budh International Circuit Wednesday, a track that may be on the future MotoGP schedule.
But the 24-year-old Spaniard not only visited the Budh Circuit, he also became the first MotoGP pilot to lap the circuit. Donning full Yamaha Factory Racing leathers, Lorenzo lapped the Budh Circuit, which hosted Formula 1 in 2011, aboard a Yamaha R15.
Following his experience on the track, Lorenzo says the track is ready to be featured on the MotoGP calendar.
Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP) says: “It’s been great to visit the Budh circuit today. the track is very modern and wide. I think it is quite prepared and ready to be on the calendar. I believe it will be exciting to ride with many overtaking opportunities.
“The Indian people I have met have been very kind and gentle, I would like to see more of India in the future with more time; we didn’t get to see so much in just two days here. Now I’m very excited to go to Jakarta to see all my Indonesian fans there.”
Lorenzo will now fly to Indonesia with MotoGP Ben Spies for two days of PR activies in Jakarta Jan. 14-15. The trip will be hosted by Yamaha Motor Kenkana Indonesia, a main sponsor of the Yamaha’s Factory Racing MotoGP Team (Semakin di Depan).Google+
