Husqvarna Motorcycle News
Since BMW acquired Husqvarna from MV Agusta in 2007, much has changed with the iconic motorcycle manufacturer.
First arrived a new R&D center for Husqvarna at its plant in Cassinetta, Italy. Then Husqvarna restructured its production and spare-parts supply, allowing the company, which originated in Sweden back in 1903, to push ahead with new products, such as its first street bike, the Nuda 900.
And things continue to progress. On Nov. 1, Husqvarna entered the Brazilian motorcycle market for the first time ever through the BMW Group in Brazil.
BMW says: “Husqvarna Motorcycles set a new milestone in its expansion strategy entering this strategic motorcycle market. The Brazilian motorcycles market is quickly increasing its volume becoming one of the most important markets worldwide and is currently the fifth largest market for BMW Motorrad.”
Husqvarna will enter the Brazilian market with two competitive, Brazil-specific enduro models – the TE 477 and the TE310R (pics above show US TE 310). BMW reports that sales operations are set for the beginning of 2013.
The Husky machines will be distributed through selected dealers, some of which are already part of the BMW network in Brazil.
Speaking of the dealers, BMW says “the Dealer’s internal communication system will be upgraded according to the Husqvarna Corporate Identity offering dedicated space to represent the Brand.
“New sales, after sales and service organization will be dedicated to Husqvarna customers. Husqvarna Dealer representatives will receive sales and technical training ensuring full capacity in servicing the Brazilian customers.”
