Adventure Summit to Miller World SBK

2012 Adventure Summit

At the World Superbike/AMA road races this coming Memorial Day weekend, adventuresome motorcyclists can do more than watch exciting pavement action on the track.

There’s now an event they can actually ride. Adventure Summits are a new form of riding entertainment where participants test their real-world riding, camping and partying skills, ride on a fun competition track, and enjoy premium hospitality while sharing their experience with friends.

Ian Schmeisser (Adventure Summits Series Manager) says: “It’s a test of all the essential adventure riding skills. To win, you have to be a good navigator, photographer or video grapher because riding to remote locations and sharing stories with friends is a big part of an adventure.

“Also important are off-pavement skills, camping, and of course a taste for great food and drink. You don’t have to be the biggest dog out there to win, just well-rounded. Adventure Summits show riders a heck of a good time for only a hundred dollars.”

The first Adventure Summit will take place at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, May 25-28, 2012. The campsite will be at the adjoining Deseret Peak Event Complex, conveniently located next to a natural terrain MX track. From there, it’s just a short walk from the tent to the Miller race track.

On Sunday and Monday mornings, May 27th and 28th from 8:30-11:30am, riders will enjoy laps on Miller Motorsports’ paved and unpaved supermoto track, just to the north of the World Superbike pits.

Ian Schmeisser says: “It will be like a real-world adventure ride… a mix of paved twisties and fun off-road sections. Off road, riders can choose between easy, medium and hard challenges. Practice and fun riding is on Sunday, the competition is on Monday.”

Sponsored in part by the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (MOA), Adventure Summits are open to riders on all brands of motorcycles.

Greg Feeler (BMW MOA President) says: “While BMW started the adventure craze, we know it’s a big world out there and welcome everyone to enjoy an Adventure Summit.”

Promoted by the GS Giants, an MOA and AMA Chartered Club, Adventure Summits will be occurring throughout 2012. The next stop is in Sedalia, Missouri at the MOA International rally. For more information, visit advsummits.com.
