2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 | Quick Look

2012 Yamaha Motorcycle

Yamaha’s highly acclaimed MotoGP M1 derivative – the crossplane crankshaft YZF-R1 – is mechanically unchanged for 2012, however it does get a new headlight cowl and upgraded electronics.

A seven-level Traction Control System works with the three-level throttle response control (full power; low- and mid-range focus; reduced power).

Even in the standard full-power mode, the R1’s motor delivers outrageous low-down torque in such a user-friendly, tractable way, that it translates to smooth corner exits without sacrificing top-end power.

Confidence-inspiring handling helps make the R1 into a wonderful superbike for the street, and check out those red-and-white 50th Anniversary graphics!
