2012 Honda Sportbike Wallpaper

Until the arrival of the CBR 250 R in 2011, the Kawasaki 250 Ninja was the only motorcycle in the class that catered to the entry-level, stateside-sportbike rider.

And the Ninja 250 arrived in America way back in 1986, so it created quite a name for itself. But Honda was out to change that, and since the inception of the CBR 250 R in 2011, it provided direct competition to the Ninja.

And after a year of much success, Honda returned with the model for 2012, with the only new feature being a White/Pearl Blue/Red color scheme joining the Red/Silver and Metallic Black options.

Why would they have to change much? Unlike the Ninja 250, the Honda features much modern technology, such as PGM-FI fuel injection and the option of ABS. The 249cc liquid-cooled single features a four-valve DOHC cylinder head and engine counterbalancer for smooth operation.

The 2012 Honda CBR250R also features a diamond twin-spar steel frame, a 37mm front fork and Pro-Link single-shock rear suspension. Stopping the 357-lbs. sportbike is a single 296mm disc up front, and 220mm disc out back with the option of ABS (adds nine lbs.).

As for gas mileage, the 2012 CBR250R is claimed to get 77 mpg, giving over 200-miles in between fill ups. As for price, the standard CBR 250 R is available for $3,999, and $4,499 for ABS.
