Tokyo Motorcycle Show Canceled due to Quake

Japan Earthquake News

The 2011 Japan Earthquake and subsequent tsunami has affected many disciplines across the motorcycle industry, including shutting down some major operations from the Big Four (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki), and postponing the Japanese Grand Prix at Twin Ring Motegi (MotoGP).

And due to the damaged nuclear power plants in Northeastern Japan, the 2011 Tokyo Motorcycle Show has been canceled. The Tokyo Motorcycle Show, which was slated to begin March 25, has not yet been rescheduled.

The organizers of the motorcycle show said ticket purchasers will be fully reimbursed.

Japan is continuing its relief efforts, attempting to recover from Friday’s 9.0 magnitude earthquake, which subsequently caused a tsunami in the Northeastern region of the country.

As of Thursday, the death toll is more than 10,000, and now there is fear of a nuclear power-plant meltdown.
