2011 FIM Motocross
The FIM Motocross World Championship moves to the Czech Republic to celebrate the twelfth Grand Prix of the season. With only four rounds to go, Antonio Cairoli and Ken Roczen will defend the red plate this weekend in Loket and they will try to obtain another double victory in order to increase their advantage over their pursuers.
The fourth round of the UEM EMX125 will also take place this weekend in Loket. Simone Zecchina is the current leader of the series, but his compatriot Samuele Bernardini is just four points behind the leader.

Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing FIM Motocross MX1’s Cairoli arrives in Loket after obtaining another double victory in Lommel last weekend. The four times World Champion has a 52 point advantage over Desalle, so if he is able to repeat his last year’s victory here in Loket, Cairoli will have everything in favour to obtain his fifth World Title.
The runner up of the series Desalle also had a very good performance last year in the Czech track, but the Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1’s rider knows that only the victory will keep his chances to keep on fighting for the Title. As his teammate Ramon will not take part in the GP due to the heavy crash he suffered in the qualifying race in Lommel, Kevin Strijbos will be Desalle’s teammate for the remaining four rounds of the Championship.
Monster Energy Yamaha’s Frossard is in third position of the MX1 Championship, eleven points behind Desalle, so this weekend is a good opportunity for the French to get closer to the top two riders of the series. Last year, Frossard was the fastest on Saturday’s MX2 time practice in Loket, but he could only obtain an overall seventh position.
The fourth position of the FIM Motocross MX1 point standings is for Honda World Motocross’ Bobryshev, who has admitted that Loket is not one of his favourite tracks, but at the same time he is confident he can obtain a good result there. The Russian is 34 points behind Frossard, so this GP will be crucial for Bobryshev if he wants to finish top three by the end of the season.
Completing the top five is Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing FIM Motocross MX1’s Nagl, who succeeded on being on the third step of the podium last weekend in Lommel. The German is struggling with some pain on his back and the hard pack of Loket will not benefit his physical conditions, as Nagl confessed last weekend that he struggles a lot with hard soil.
Tanel Leok, twelfth in the point standings, finished third last year in Loket, so it will be a good opportunity for the Estonian to obtain his maiden podium of the season this weekend in the Czech Republic.
Christophe Pourcel will be present this weekend in Loket FIM Motocross, where he will give his 100% to finish among the top five riders of the MX1 class.
David Philippaerts broke his two wrists while he was training in Germany last Wednesday and he underwent surgery right after the crash. The Italian will not take part in the Czech GP and he is likely to miss the rest of the 2011 FIM
Motocross World Championship.

FIM Motocross MX2
Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing MX2’s Roczen missed the overall win last weekend in Lommel, but he showed once more an impressive rhythm on the sand. The German is now 21 points ahead of Herlings, so he needs a good result in Loket to assure the red plate until the end of the season.
Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing FIM Motocross MX2’s Herlings arrives in Loket with still some pain on his rib due to an accident he suffered right before the GP of Limburg. However, the Dutch already proved in Lommel that he was able to win even suffering from that pain, so he is determined to rider for the win once more in Loket and get closer to the leader of the series. Last year, Herlings finished third in the first heat in Loket, but he got a DNF in the second one because he injured his shoulder.
CLS Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit FIM Motocross’ Searle is still third in the point standings, but he is 90 points behind the leader, Ken Roczen. The Brit is looking forward to this weekend, as he has great memories of Loket as he won there in 2008.
The fourth position of the FIM Motocross MX2 point standings is for Monster Energy Yamaha’s Paulin, who obtained an overall third position last year in Loket. Paulin has proved that he has the rhythm and the speed to fight for the top three positions, so it might be his opportunity this weekend to finish at the top of the rostrum for the first time this season.
Bike-it Cosworth Wild Wolf Yamaha’s Osborn keeps on being fifth in the MX2 standings, but the American will not take part in the Czech GP as he is still recovering from his shoulder injury. His teammate Tonus is sixth in the Championship, tight in points with Osborne, so Tonus might enter the top five after this weekend in Loket.
Home rider Petr Smitka is looking forward to this weekend and he is determined to finish among the top twenty as he did in the previous two GP and obtained very valuable points in front of his home crowd.

The fourth round out of six of the UEM EMX125 will also take place this weekend in Loket. Simone Zechinna will still have the red plate on his Suzuki machine, but Samuele Bernardini will make his best to finish at the top of the rostrum and become the new leader of the series, as he is just four points behind Zechinna. The third position of the point standings is for Tim Gajser, who has been on the third step of the podium on the last two rounds of the Championship. Jeremy Seewer is fourth and James Dunn completes the top five.
