Looking to defend his title, KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak is off to another dominate start in the FIM World Indoor Enduro, which was rebranded the SuperEnduro World Championship.

Fresh off his flawless AMA EnduroCross season, in which he won every round, the Polish rider began Round 1 in the SuperEnduro World Championship in Genoa, Italy, with victories in all three finals.

Joining Blazusiak on the overall podium was Husaberg’s Joakim Ljunggren (Sweden) and KTM’s Gristobal Guerero (Spain).

A crowd of 8,000 was at the Genoa SuperEnduro round, which consisted of the typical race format – three qualifying heats, two last-chance qualifying races, and three finals; 16 riders went on to compete in each final.

Taddy Blazusiak (KTM) says: “I think the most important thing tonight was my starts. They were amazing. I could feel I was on the limit of the grip and I could push as hard as I wanted to. I could see the point where I was going to end up. Good starts make my job so much easier. I can pull a little gap on the other guys and race my own race.”

With each final race worth 20 points, Blazusiak no has 60 points, 20 ahead of Ljunggren, with Guerero in third with 34 points.

The 2012 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship now moves on to Poland, where round two takes place in Lodz on Saturday, Dec. 10.
