As part of a continuing effort to support women and their families impacted by breast cancer, Harley-Davidson Motor Company is pleased to announce it is donating $370,000 to organizations that support those who are affected by breast cancer.

The idea for the Harley-Davidson Pink Label Collection was inspired by women who have been affected by breast cancer and is designed to help support them.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of every item in the Pink Label Collection during 2010 helps fund the YourShoes 24/7 Support Center, which is administered by the national non-profit Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization (previously known at the Breast Cancer Network of Strength).

The YourShoes center is staffed by breast cancer survivors who provide immediate emotional relief to people affected by breast cancer.

Patrick Smith (Harley-Davidson Vice President and General Manager of Merchandise) says: “Harley-Davidson and its dealers are proud to make this donation to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.

“Pink Label is our most successful new women’s MotorClothes product launch ever and we could not be more pleased that it is helping support counseling efforts and peer support for those affected by breast cancer.”

Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization CEO Cindy Geoghegan expressed the organization’s appreciation for this effort in supporting those impacted by breast cancer.

Cindy Geoghegan says: “We really want to thank everyone involved at Harley-Davidson for their work on this project. The donation resulting from the success of the Pink Label collection goes directly toward making sure that no one faces breast cancer alone.”

As the oldest national breast cancer organization, Y-ME focuses on providing information, empowerment and peer support.

The Pink Label Collection, which includes a focused assortment of MotorClothes women’s riding gear, apparel and accessories in popular styles and unique graphics has been successful for a combination of factors, according to Smith.

Patrick Smith says: “We believe that the success comes from the popularity of the styles and the deep commitment to this important cause. Harley-Davidson customers, dealers and the communities have embraced the Pink Label Collection to help support those facing the struggle of breast cancer.”
