In 2009 FMF Racing took the big step of supporting XDL’s national championship competition, renaming it the FMF Cup.
Since that time, the XDL Championship Series has put Inside XDL on Versus, executed a demo at the ESPN’s Summer X Games, and for 2011 upgraded its schedule to include both MotoGP events and no less than three city venues.
Donnie Emler Jr. (FMF Marketing Director) says: "The amount and quality of growth we’ve seen with XDL mirrors the phenomenal growth of our APEX line of street products so continuing the FMF Cup was a no-brainer.
"In addition, FMF is breaking into more and more international markets and we think XDL will eventually be able to help us solidify our brand presence in far off places like India, China and Indonesia."
Randy Grube (XDL founder) says: "FMF Racing has been a great partner for us for many year now and I think this year, we’ll be taking the partnership to a whole new level. We’re making a strong effort to expand the XDL audience to Moto and action sports and I think we have real synergies in that area."
The FMF Cup will be part of every XDL Championship Series event in 2011, which includes the following schedule:
- Round 1: Daytona Beach, FL – During Daytona Bike Week – @ Daytona International Speedway – March 9 – 12
- Round 2: Phoenix, AZ – During AZ Bike Week – @ Downtown Scottsdale – April 1 & 2
- Round 3: Nashville, TN – XDL Freeride Festival – @ Nashville Superspeedway – June 10 & 11
- Round 4: Monterey, CA – With MotoGP – @ Downtown Monterey – July 22 & 23
- Round 5: Indianapolis, IN – With MotoGP – @ Downtown Indianapolis – August 26 & 27
