2011 Moto2 Teams
The Selection Committee comprising delegates of the FIM, Dorna and IRTA met on Sept. 30, 2010 in Motegi to select the teams that will be invited to participate in the Moto2 Class 2011 FIM MotoGP World Championship.
The committee considered applications from 36 teams applying for 61 places. A total of 15 Moto2 teams comprising 29 motorcycle GP racers were accepted.
Additionally, a limited number of other teams have been placed on a pending list to be considered later for the remaining places.
The FIM says it was unfortunately necessary to refuse applications from a significant number of other 2011 teams, mainly those currently competing in other classes or Championships.
Accepted teams now have until Oct. 30, 2010 to confirm their riders and send it their security deposit with IRTA.
Should any of the accepted teams propose riders not acceptable to the Committee, or if the security deposit is not paid, then consideration will be given to other teams.
