Faces of World Superbike: Digital Magazine

2011 WSBK Photo Essay

For the average World Superbike fan, getting up close and personal with the men who pilot these production machines around world-class circuits is an impossible task.

Sure, for 13 weeks World SBK fans are able to see the on-track action from the comfort of their living rooms on Sundays or the grandstands if at a race, but they miss the action behind the pit walls where most races are won.

Here at Ultimate Motorcycling, we decided to give readers that extra insight into the USA round of WSBK at Miller Motorsports Park with a digital feature called "Faces of World Superbike."

The below link will take you to the WSBK photo essay in the form of a digital magazine, allowing you to see the pensive moods before and after the races.

From Carlos Checa to Max Biaggi to James Toseland to Tom Sykes, the different attitudes of these WSBK riders are frozen in time, shown here in Faces of Word Superbike.

As for the actual action, Althea Ducati’s Carlos Checa took both Miller Superbike races with ease, the Spaniard also setting the two fastest laps at Miller World Superbike on Monday. In Race 1, Checa was joined on the podium by Effenbert – Liberty Racing Ducati duo Jakub Smrz and Sylvain Guintoli, respectively. In Race 2, Checa was joined by Alitalia Aprilia riders Max Biaggi and Leon Camier.
