The tire manufacturer which has dominated the TT in recent years has become Official Tire Partner for the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.

Dunlop has enjoyed unrivalled success at the TT, with many of the greatest names in the event’s history recording victories using Dunlop tyres.

All of the solo TT races in the last two years were won by riders using Dunlop tyres, including Ian Hutchinson’s record-breaking five victories in 2010 and Steve Plater’s race-winning performance in 2009 which included the Senior TT race record.

Iconic names from the past who used Dunlop tyres at the TT include ‘Rocket’ Ron Haslam, Roger Marshall, Mick Grant, Roger Burnett and 26-times TT winner Joey Dunlop.

As part of its agreement with the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development Dunlop will receive a host of benefits including trackside branding which will be featured on the event’s high profile worldwide TV coverage.

Allan Bell (Isle of Man Economic Development Minister) says: “The TT races commercial programme continues to grow and it is fitting that in the year of the centenary of the Mountain Course, one of the companies that has become synonymous with the event has become a commercial partner.”

Eddy Geerdink (Dunlop Marketing Director) says: “Dunlop is delighted to become the Official Tire Partner of the TT Races. The Mountain course is one of the world’s toughest circuits and our success in the event over the years has provided us with excellent recognition for the performance and technology of our tires.”

Dunlop joins a strong portfolio of TT partners and sponsors alongside headline sponsor Monster Energy, Official Mobile and Broadband partner Sure, Official Timing partner Graham London, Superstock race sponsor and Official Life Assurance and Pensions partner Royal London 360 and Official Lubricants partner Motul.

Isle of Man-based PokerStars, the event’s Official Gaming partner, will this year sponsor the Senior TT, while Arai is again the event’s Official Helmet supplier.

The commercial program is hugely important to the event management with all of the revenue generated being reinvested into the running costs of the TT, including insurance and investment in the latest safety equipment.
