Daytona TV Schedule
When Speed Vision was originally launched it was godsend. Finally, we had one source for all our favorite motorcycle racing TV broadcast coverage. Whether is it was 500cc GP, World SBK, AMA Superbike or Supersport my favorite road racing could be had on the good old tube.
Today, Speed TV, secured by its coverage of NASCAR, is still the first and only U.S. cable television network dedicated to automotive and motorcycle racing. Now available in more than 82 million homes across America, the Fox Sports channel will deliver once again with live motorcycle racing coverage of AMA Pro Racing’s 2011 Daytona 200.
The historic AMA Pro Road Racing event is scheduled for March 12 at 1 p.m. ET. Leigh Diffey will co-host the Speed TV show along with Mr. Daytona himself Scott Russell. The live cable TV broadcast from Daytona International Speedway will also included pit-lane reporters Greg White and Jason Pridmore.
This year’s Daytona 200 will revert back to a Saturday-afternoon start time and will feature racers and teams from the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class. As determined a few year’s ago, the speed of the Superbikes became too high as the risk of tire wear and disintegration become too dangerous.
Heading the motorcycle road race will be 2010 Daytona 200 winner Josh Herrin, again riding for Team Graves Yamaha on the R6.
Herrin rode a masterful Sportbike race under the lights last year and took a resounding victory, joining the many legendary riders who have won this significant event in the years since 1937, when it originated as a now-famous beach race.
AMA Pro SuperSport East Division Champion J.D. Beach will make his Daytona SportBike debut at the Daytona 200, riding a Team Cycle World Attack Performance Kawasaki alongside teammate Eric Bostrom as the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 R motorcycles make their return to AMA Pro Road Racing.
So remember to catch the live coverage of the Daytona 200 on Speed TV, which be televised on Saturday March 12 at 1:00 EST, 2:00 CST, 3:00 MST and 4:00 PST, or set your TIVO or other DVR cable boxes.Google+
