Dainese Celebrates Chicago Grand Opening

Dainese News

Dainese is pleased to announce the very successful grand opening of its new store in greater Chicagoland this past weekend.

The festivities began Sunday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony in the presence of 1993 World GP Champion Kevin Schwantz, who later spent time with the fans during a special interview session with Kevin taking questions from the public. The line to receive an autographed poster was almost out the door!

Continuing on the hype of this great day, none other than 2006 MotoGP World Champ Nicky Hayden visited in the afternoon. The Kentucky Kid did a special stopover to spend time at the D-Store Chicago with the crew and fans, while on his way from Jerez, Spain to his home in Kentucky.

During the Grand Opening, customers had the opportunity to meet with the two Dainese world champions and Dainese’s representatives, as well as to see and feel the new 2011 Ducati line-up, including the incredible Diavel, displayed by Motor Cycle Center in Villa Park.

Also on hand were various regional and national organizations like Riders For Health, Blackhawk Farms Raceway/Motovid, Ducati Riders of Illinois, Rocket Chicks/Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Everyone got to experience about new Dainese and AGV products, and enter a drawing to win some great prizes.

Also on display was the Jordan Suzuki #23 of AMA Superbike contender Ben Bostrom which had been brought courtesy of Dainese’s close partner, the Michael Jordan Motorsports team.

Kevin Lehman (owner of the D-Store Chicago franchise) says: “It was clear to me that the motorcycle fans who live in the Chicago area and beyond- as we had some guests coming from far up north in Wisconsin- are delighted that they can now shop in a Dainese D-Store.

“Store sales were extremely strong throughout the weekend, with several customers returning everyday! The Grand Opening was a great success especially considering the threatening spring weather we had in the late afternoon. It was an honor to host the two great personalities that are Kevin Schwantz and Nicky Hayden to help us start our great Dainese journey in the Chicago area.”

D-Store Chicago is located in 1408 N. Meacham Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is available in the parking lot.
