Capirossi Seeks Germany MotoGP Return

MotoGP

During qualifying for Assen MotoGP two weeks ago, Pramac Racing Ducati’s Loris Capirossi broke his two ribs and sustained a bruise on his shoulder.

The Italian missed that MotoGP, the subsequent one at Mugello. But wanting to return ASAP, Capirossi has been on an intense recovery program. On Wednesday, the 38-year-old, 1998 250cc Champion says he’ll attempt a return for Sachsenring MotoGP on July 17.

Loris Capirossi (Pramac Racing Ducati GP11 MotoGP) says: "I feel better, but my fitness is still not acceptable. I’m doing daily sessions of physiotherapy at the IM2S Medical Center of Monaco. I’ve already missed two races, Mugello was really important to me. I want to ride the bike as soon as possible."

Following last weekend’s Mugello GP, an official test was conducted. During that test, current Effenbert-Liberty Ducati World Superbike rider Sylvain Guintoli took some laps aboard the Pramac Ducati machine; the Frenchman is set to substitute for Capirossi if the Italian can’t ride in Germany.
