The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) expressed its sincerest appreciation to the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (MOA) Foundation, which recently honored the MSF with their Motorcycling Excellence – Corporate Award.

BMW MOA presented the award to the MSF at the 39th Annual BMW MOA International Rally in Bloomsburg, Pa., in July.

According to the BMW MOA, each year their Foundation recognizes a company for their contribution to the spirit of motorcycling through this award.

With its ongoing evolution of rider training, intensive research and decades of expertise in the motorcycling community, the MSF was the recipient this year.

Roger Wiles (Rider Education Coordinator for BMW MOA’s Rider Performance University) says: “MSF has made significant contributions to all riders with the recent research and emphasis on the human element, as well as advanced training curricula. We believe the MOA Foundation’s Motorcycling Excellence – Corporate Award is well deserved.”

According to the BMW MOA Foundation, its goals are comparable to those of the MSF. The BMW MOA Foundation is dedicated to improving rider safety, and supporting motorcycling and its rich heritage.

They offer MSF-developed seminars and RiderCourses at their rallies and through their Rider Performance University. Their stated goal is to provide rider training and support for motorcyclist safety and awareness programs.

Tim Buche (MSF President) says: “Thank you to the BMW MOA Foundation for its recognition of the MSF with its Motorcycling Excellence Award. I express these sentiments on behalf of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Board of Trustees, which represent the 12 leading brands including BMW, the hardworking internationally recognized staff, and the nearly 10,000 MSF-certified RiderCoaches and RiderCoach Trainers who bring our world-class programs to life in the lives of nearly one-half million participants each year.”

Buche added that the MSF’s primary goal continues to be developing riders of good riding character – riders with the skill and the judgment to truly enjoy motorcycling over a lifetime. The MSF is constantly fine-tuning the Basic RiderCourseSM, which is the cornerstone of the MSF’s Rider Education and Training System. The MSF also offers more than 23 RiderCourses and programs in its comprehensive Rider Education Training System.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation promotes safety through rider training and education, operator licensing tests and public information programs. The MSF works with the federal government, state agencies, the military and others to offer training for all skill levels so riders can enjoy a lifetime of safe, responsible motorcycling. Standards established by the MSF® have been recognized worldwide since 1973.

The MSF is a not-for-profit organization sponsored by BMW, BRP, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Piaggio, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha. For safety information or to enroll in the RiderCourseSM nearest you, visit msf-usa.org or call (800) 446-9227.
