2012 Aprilia Scooter

At the EICMA 2011 in Milan (Nov. 8-13), the company known for it’s technologically advanced motorcycles, such as the RSV4, will be displaying its newest machine in the scooter market, the Aprilia SRV 850 Maxi-scooter.

The Italian motorcycle manufacture owned by Piaggio gave the scooter world an early unveiling, releasing information on the Maxi SRV 850 a month before the EICMA 2011. The Maxi is built to appeal to the ones craving a more powerful scooter.

Aprilia says the "SRV 850 redefines the limits of the scooter world: power, balance, a sports spirit and design, all wrapped up in this new scooter, reminiscent of the technical, performance and aesthetic standards of Aprilia’s superbikes."

The SRV 850 features an 850cc 90-degree v-twin with electronic fuel injection. The motor features 75 horsepower at 7750 rpm and 56 ft. lbs. of torque at 6000 rpm; these power numbers will likely place the Aprilia SRV 850 in top of its category.

Aprilia says: "The style is a clear reference to the Aprilia superbike world and all of the technical skills of the engineers in Noale who – starting from the Gilera GP 800, introduced in 2007 as the most powerful scooter in the world – advanced that revolutionary project from an engine performance, chassis and riding set up point of view.

"No fan will have trouble recognizing the stylistic standards in the new SRV 850 which, together with performance, contributed to confirming Aprilia motorcycles as the point of reference in the world of competitive motorcycles."
