Southern 100 Crash Video
Duke Video continues to lead in the capturing footage and offering reviews of motorcycle races such as the Isle of Man TT and the Manx Grand Prix.
One race that Duke also provides reviews for is the Southern 100. And some clips from Duke’s review of the 2011 Southern 100 are absolutely breathtaking, such as this crash in the Supersport 600c race involving Dan Sayle and Dave Taylor.
The above video shows some terrifying images from the Supersport 600cc crash near the Bombhole or Billown Dip section of the 2011 Southern 100 course, the race taking place July 14.
Duke says: “You can see that from the impact, one of Dan Sayle’s boots was blown clean off and following the crash, his remaining boot has almost been completely removed too. Furthermore, keep an eye out in the background for the spectator who manages to perform a superman dive of epic proportions in order to avoid the incident! Luckily, the rider’s injuries were not life threatening, and the marshals and response team were as quick as ever to respond and help the competitors following the incident. A marshal, who was struck by one of the machines, received a leg injury, but will thankfully make a full recovery. Long live road racing!”
In that Supersport race held Thursday, PB Kawasaki’s Michael Dunlop dominated from start to finish. Joining Dunlop on the podium were William Dunlop on the Honda CBR1000RR and Relentless Suzuki’s Guy Martin.
