Road Race Rewards
KTM, founded in 1953, is the second largest European motorcycle manufacturer specializing in sport bikes and off-road motorcycles.
Here in the U.S., KTM has announced its 2011 Grass Roots Road Race Contingency Program designed to reward weekend racers to experienced professionals for their racing success aboard KTM motorcycles.
With more than 180 World Championships, mostly in off-road, KTM focused this grassroots "street" contingency program on five regional road racing series across 15 motorcycle racing classes.
The KTM Road Race Contingency Program covers the following U.S. based road racing series: AFM, CCS, CMRA, CVMA and WERA and pays out to fifth place with $1000 to win. The KTM 1190 RC8, 1190 RC8 R and 1190 RC8 R Race Spec superbikes will be eligible to earn contingency in three classes for each series.
"For 2011, the new 1190 RC8 R Race Spec is the perfect bike for racers to take home up to $3000 in KTM contingency per race weekend. The RC8 R Race Spec bike is fully equipped for closed course racing use only," commented John Hinz, KTM Sport Bike Manager.
