AMA Supercross

With the Las Vegas Finale of the 2011 AMA Supercross season set for this weekend, the rider who will throttle away with the title is still unknown.

Unlike the runaway winners of Supercross past, the 25 points available at Las Vegas will decide which of the three possible riders can capture the 2011 AMA SX Title: Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto (318), Two-Two Motorsports Honda’s Chad Reed (309) and Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey (306).

Once the excitement is over Saturday night in Vegas, CBS Sports will deliver a cool-down lap of excitement on Sunday; CBS will allow its viewers to relive the moments that made this Supercross season by broadcasting a one-hour review program.

The 2011 AMA Supercross review, which will broadcast at 2 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, May 8, will feature the highlights of the closest Supercross class title fight of all time in addition to the high-intensity Supercross Lites Regional Championship seasons.

Feld Motorsports says: “The one-hour program will relive the many dramatic and exciting events that has put three riders within reach of the world championship. From controversial incidents to breakthrough victories, the 2011 season has been the site of many moments that will live in supercross infamy for years to come. Viewers will start from square one in Anaheim and recall the moments through the subsequent 16 races that came down to the final lap in Las Vegas the night prior.”

Besides the highlights, the show will also include exlusive rider interviews and behind-the-supercross-scene footage from the stars fo the season, including Reed, Dungey, Villopoto, Team San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart and American Honda’s Trey Canard.
