2011 AMA Superbike
Last Monday, the Foremost Insurance / Pegram Racing AMA Superbike team reported they had parted with Ducati, but would make an announcement shortly about their 2011 plans.
And the news arrived quickly; on Wednesday, the team, owned by racer Larry Pegram, said they will campaign the BMW S1000RR next year.
The team has already completed some preliminary testing on the BMW S 1000 RR for the 2011 AMA Superbike Championship, and Pegram says he’s happy with the superbike’s performance.
Larry Pegram says: “We have tested three times aboard a slightly modified, but mostly stock, BMW
S 1000 RR and I am really pleased with the bike’s performance.”
“I comfortably did laps that were already very competitive. Some minor modifications will make the RR race ready and a true contender to win AMA Superbike races.”
Todd Andersen (Marketing Manager, from BMW North America) says: “BMW is thrilled that Foremost Insurance / Pegram Racing have chosen to campaign the
BMW S 1000 RR in the AMA Superbike championship. Giving Larry’s race-winning history, we expect great things from the team.”
Randy Slotten (Marketing Director of Foremost Insurance) says: “Foremost Insurance is pleased to be able to continue as title sponsor of
Pegram Racing Team and is very enthusiastic about supporting Pegram’s BMW
 efforts.”
The Foremost Insurance / Pegram Racing team competed on the 1098R Ducati for the past two AMA Superbike seasons. Without factory backing, the team finished fourth overall in both 2009 and 2010.
