TTXGP: Champion Munch Racing Report

Electric Motorcycle Racing

All spectators got to witness a really thrilling racing final Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Abacete (Spain). Matthias Himmelmann (MUNCH racing Team, Germany) and Alessandro Brannetti (CRP Racing, Italy) both have once again proven their amazing motorcycle driving abilities during a very suspenseful nine-lap neck to neck race.

Eventually it was only a 0.228 second that allowed Matthias Himmelmann of Munch racing team to emerge victorious out of the final race of the TTXG eGrandprix 2010 and made him world champion 2010.

Having dominated the international FIM e-Power racing series this season, MUNCH can now call itself World Champion of all electronic motorcycle racing series. Not only did the team win the most important category of the TTXGP racing series, the FIM e-Power constructing engineer category, but they have also once again proven their talent and competence with the historic victory last Sunday, October 24th in Albacete.

The qualified motorcycle racing drivers could not have been opposed to more varying racing conditions. While some had put their best driving skills and dangerous slow-downs to a good use others had to restrain a powerful racing TTXGP motorcycle which caused long slow-downs.

This, on the other hand, was compensated by an outstanding acceleration. Matthias Himmelmann and Alessandro Brannetti drove such powerful racing motorcycles.

Both TTXGP motorcycle drivers took the leadership in turns until the MUNCH racing driver Matthias Himmelmann used the chance to break out of the two men group during the final racing lap. Alessandro Brannetti was not able to catch up to Himmelmann which ensured Himmelmann’s victory.

Thomas Petsch (Manager of the MUNCH racing team) says: “What a sensational racing final. Due to this victory we’re the first team to win both the TTXGP and the FIM series. Today is a historic day which sets new standards for the yet young sport of e-Power motorbike racing.” MUNCH racing demonstrated once again history in the making.”

“After having broken all records of the last century with the big bike, the MÃœNCH Mammut, Thomas Petsch and his team placed a new milestone in the legendary MÃœNCH history last Sunday. A German team is once again the precursor for technical progress and outstanding development.

The registration for next year’s TTXGP season already shows that electronic racing series enjoy increasing popularity. According to the host TTXGP 110 teams already expressed their interest in the 2011 championship.

By then, other electric racing motorcycle teams besides the TTXGP teams from Russia, USA, Italy, UK, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, China, India as well as the German MUNCH racing team might participate in the final race.
