Moto2: Tom Luthi Final Test

Moto2 Jerez Test

The last test of the Moto2 class on the 2010 MotoGP off-season was a success for Tom Lüthi and his team on the Suter chassis before the two months test ban will start.

After the weather preventing them to test on the normally sunny Andalusian racetrack in Jerez Spain, as it was raining the whole day, the weather today seemed to start in the same way this morning, but got better around noon and the sun made sure that Lüthi could fulfil his test program today and leave the track satisfied after a run of 57 laps in total.

Tom Lüthi (Moto2 Rider) says: “Also this test with the Suter chassis went very well. Unfortunately yesterday we were able to ride only 10 laps due to the rainy weather. It didn’t make much sense to test under these conditions.”

“But today the weather cleared up around lunchtime and when the sun was out, we could continue with our testing program. I was able to ride many laps and I was faster than with the Moriwaki bike on this track. I can enjoy my winter break now.”

Terrell Thien (Moto2 Team Manager) says: “Again also this test went well. It was the last test of the 2010 season and we can be satisfied with its result as we only have a little duty list now for the winter break.”

Daniel M. Epp (Moto2 Rider Management) says: “It was the third full test day with the new Suter chassis which went very well. All testing days after the Grand Prix in Valencia were successful. Tom and his team could adapt straight away to the new techniques and Tom was fast from the very first moment on.”

“He was able to test the Suter on a very high level. After this end of the season we can leave into the winter break with a good feeling. But the break will be short as already in February we will be back and continue with the preparations for 2011.”

The two off-season tests 2010, first on the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia, now at the andalusian racetrack in Jerez de la Frontera, where Lüthi achieved his first Moto2 podium earlier this year were successful and the 24-year-old Swiss can start a relaxed winter break now.

Also another fact is helping the youngster from Bern to calm down before the next season starts. Lüthi’s long term main Sponsor Interwetten renewed the sponsorship contract for a sixth year and will also stay on Lüthi’s side for the 2011 season.

Tom Lüthi, his Manager Daniel M. Epp and the Interwetten CEO Rita Landauer are very happy about the continuation of the great cooperation of the last years and they are looking forward to a successful season 2011 with Tom Lüthi in the Moto2 world championship.

Tom Lüthi continues: “I am very happy that the cooperation of the last years will also continue 2011 and Interwetten will be our main sponsor again. For next year the whole team is looking forward to celebrate great successes together with Interwetten.”

Daniel M. Epp continues: “We are proud that Interwetten will also be the main sponsor for Tom Lüthi in the following year. Such a long and solid sponsorship cooperation is not obvious these days and we are very happy we have it.”

Rita Landauer (CEO Interwetten) says: “Tom Lüthi showed us in the last season, that he belongs to the world’s top class in the Moto2 world championship. We believe that in 2011 Tom can increase his level even more and we hope he can achieve some victories and can fight for the world title again.”

“Interwetten is continuing the sponsorship with Lüthi for a sixth season now. This showes how much confidence we have in his skills. Furthermore we are also counting on the positive image of the young, successful and eminently pleasant Swiss Top-sportsman.”
