AMA Superbike Report
Tommy Hayden and the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team are eager to take on the competition this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, after taking over the points lead at Road America in June.
Hayden says: “I’m looking forward to getting back to racing after the long break,” said Hayden. “This is a track I like, and we hope to pick up some extra points here in Ohio.”
The Mid-Ohio circuit is often called the most competitive track in America due to its high-speed layout that gives racers plenty of passing opportunities, and with Tommy and his GSX-R1000 in top form, this week’s races are sure to be exciting ones.
The last round of the AMA American Superbike championship at Road America proved to be the most exciting yet. The first race saw Tommy battling with the leader right up to the finish, missing victory by a fraction of a second.
Tommy came back in race two and unleashed the power of his GSX-R1000 to make a dramatic last-second pass for the lead, earning him the second Superbike win of his career.
His victory also gave him enough points to take over the lead for the championship. Tommy currently leads with 229 points, and is looking to expand on that lead this weekend.
The Suzuki GSX-R1000 has been the most dominant bike of the 2010 AMA American Superbike season.
Suzuki racers have taken more race wins and podium positions than any other manufacturer thanks to the precision and power of their Suzuki machines.
Suzuki is dedicated to creating the highest performance and quality available, and the GSX-R1000 delivers.
Tommy and the other Suzuki racers will be signing autographs on Sunday, July 18th from 10:50 – 11:30, so come down and meet your favorite riders.Google+
