Rockstar Suzuki: Thunder Valley Report

Motocross Results

Moto 1 of Saturday’s Thunder Valley National saw a determined Tommy Hahn put together his best performance so far this AMA Motocross season. After getting off to a solid start aboard his Suzuki RM-Z450, Tommy got on the gas and worked his way up to his first podium finish of the season.

Tommy was working hard to repeat his success in moto 2, but injured his foot on a jump. “I felt a big pop in my foot when I landed, and felt it burning up my leg,” said Hahn. “I knew right away that something was wrong.”

He quickly pulled off the track into the pits, and had to be helped off the bike. Despite his injury, Tommy still took 12th overall thanks to his podium in the first moto. Hahn visited his doctor today for an MRI, and is awaiting the results. Look for an update on his condition later this week.

Tommy’s 450-class teammate Jake Moss had to be helped off the track after reinjuring his back during a crash in moto 1. Initial reports show that Jake has suffered minor fractures to multiple vertebrae.

Jake is still under observation in the hospital, and will be undergoing further evaluation. “He is expected to make a full recovery,” said Team Manager Bill Keefe. “But it’s still too early to tell when Jake will be back on his bike.”

Hunter Hewitt battled with the other racers in the hotly contested 250 class, and came away with his best overall finish so far this season. He took 14th after taking 14th and 15th respectively in the motos. Hunter has been building momentum at each race and is looking to continue to improve on his results.

The next round of the AMA Pro Motocross series will take place at the famous RedBud Motocross Park in Buchanan, Michigan on July 3rd.
