The Althea Ducati Racing Team appear to be following the motto ‘the more you get, the more you want’ to the letter.

The Italian-based squad run by Genesio Bevilacqua so far this season are proving to be the best private team in World Superbike, but the men and the machines that make up Althea do not seem to be satisfied this albeit respectable title.

Thanks to Carlos Checa’s second place at Kyalami in race 1, which immediately wiped away any memories of his disappointing performance at Monza, the Althea team and its Spanish rider managed to hold on to third in the table and this weekend they will be lining up at what is potentially a ‘friendly’ track in an attempt to keep up with the top men, Haslam and Biaggi.

"Morale is high as we arrive in Salt Lake City," revealed Genesio Bevilacqua, General Manager of Althea Racing.

"In Kyalami, at the end of a race to remember, we achieved a great second place with Carlos. The team is determined and everything is working perfectly in the garage. If we consider the fact that in 2008, right here in America, Checa took the double, we can be confident ahead of this weekend."
