WSBK Race Report
The lone US rider in the Superbike World Championship class in 2010 is Roger Lee Hayden (Pedercini Kawasaki) and he is now making real strides forward in his rookie season at this level.
Points eluded him again at Valencia, but he was enthused by the fact that the leading riders are getting closer and closer all the time.
Roger Lee Hayden says: "Race one was not so bad also because of my quick start," said Hayden. "I put my head down trying to reach my first championship points, but unfortunately I finished sixteenth. Unfortunately, after the second start of race two I lost the feeling with my bike. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with this weekend in Valencia because we reduced the gap with the fastest riders."
Roger Lee Hayden is an American professional motorcycle racer and is the younger brother of Tommy and Nicky Hayden. Hayden was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky, where he still lives today. His two older brothers Nicky and Tommy are also professional motorcycle racers. His father, Earl Hayden, was a dirt track racer for twenty years and his mother Rose raced in the Powder Puff class for five years.
He also has two sisters, Jenny and Kathleen. Hayden began riding at the age of five and entered his first race when he was six. He likes to watch football, basketball, and NASCAR. Hayden lists his hobbies as motocross, flat track, hunting, and fishing. His heroes are Kenny Roberts, Freddie Spencer, Ronnie Jones, and Michael Jordan.
