The Skip Barber Superbike School Powered by KTM has many factors which make it unique. It is the only school in the United States to feature 1190cc displacement superbikes. In addition, Skip Barber instructors bring over 35 year of experience in teaching enthusiasts about dynamics, control and speed.

On day one students will focus on corner entry, including theory and practice drills on proper body position, threshold braking, trail braking and downshifting technique.

Day two focuses on corner exit, throttle application at lean angle, contact patch and additional lapping sessions all of which are captured and analyzed with on bike video making the school the most technically advanced school in the industry.

The hilly terrain at Laguna Seca is also the ideal track for students to develop the skills and confidence to not only lower their lap times but improve their everyday street riding skills.

Skip Barber and KTM North America, Inc. began their Superbike racing partnership in 2009 pairing the world’s premier car racing and driving school with a leading worldwide manufacturer of Supermoto and Superbike motorcycles.

In its inaugural year, the Superbike School retained Jeff Haney as its consultant and lead instructor to help develop the curriculum and build up the school to its elite status.

Jeff Haney Quote

"I would like to thank everyone at Skip Barber for the opportunity to build this Superbike School program. I would also like to thank the instructors on both the car and motorcycle side for their hard work. We could not have had the first year success without the hard work from each team member and our participating sponsors".

Heading up the school for its second year, will be motorcycle visionary and Lead Instructor, Michael Czysz. As an experienced racer, test rider, motorcycle designer and engineer Czysz has a deep understanding of riding and motorcycle dynamics.

As an instructor Czysz clearly and effectively breaks down the techniques of how to ride a motorcycle faster and safer. Also returning for their second year with the program are notable instructors Ty Howard and James Randolph.

Both instructors currently pilot the RC8-R in the CMRA, AFM, WERA West and WSMC series.
