Dungey leads Supercross into Dallas

SX Team Report

The Rockstar Makita Suzuki team is ready to challenge the competition for the top spot on the podium as the AMA/FIM Supercross Series moves to Dallas for this weekend’s race. The Dallas motorcycle racing round will be the 11th stop on the 17-race tour.

After 10 rounds of Supercross action, Ryan Dungey still has a stronghold on the points lead. After kicking off his rookie season with a slew of outstanding races, he’s nabbed four holeshots, six heat race wins and won three main events in the 450 class. Dungey has a 17-point lead and will try to extend that on Saturday on his RM-Z450.

Ryan Dungey Speaks…

"Fitness-wise and bike setup-wise, I feel awesome," Dungey said. "I feel like we found some great stuff with the setup of the bike, which allows me to feel really comfortable on the track."

Austin Stroupe has been more consistent in the 2010 season than ever before and has finished second in every one of the Eastern Regional Lites class races. He’s ready to take the next step this Saturday at Cowboy Stadium.

Austin Stroupe Speaks…

"I’m having a good time," Stroupe said of his season aboard the fuel-injected RM-Z250. "The team is helping me and we’re working together, and the bike is great."

Filling in for the injured Matt Moss in the Supercross class is Ryan Morais, who started the season competing in the Western Regional Lites class but has jumped to the Supercross class as the series makes the rounds in the Eastern region.

Morais finished in the top 10 in Daytona, but after sustaining an injury in practice in Toronto had to sit out the Supercross main event. Morais will be returning to competition on Saturday aboard the RM-Z450.

Watch for the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team to be motorcycle racing toward the top spot on the Supercross podium this weekend. The race will be televised on Speed TV on Saturday, March 21, at 6 pm EST.
