Husqvarna named 2010 “Marque Of The Year”

Husqvarna celebrates 50 years of race winning heritage by being named 2010 "Marque Of The Year" at the 19th Annual AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. Recognized as the world’s largest gathering of vintage motorcycle enthusiasts the event takes place July 9-11 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio and attracts tens of thousands of fans of all ages, eras and brands.

A dominant force in off-road competition since the 1970s, Husqvarna (BMW’s off-road motorcycle marque) will celebrate both its proud heritage and future as Husqvarna expands in modern AMA Racing national competition in 2010. This year Husqvarna’s professional race team will compete in the AMA Enduro, GNCC, EnduroCross, National Hare & Hound and WORCS series. Team riders will contest the premier classes of each series aboard 2010 Husqvarna TXC 250, TXC 450, TXC 510 and WR 300 models.

"We are keenly aware of Husqvarna’s celebrated history and determined to revive the glory years of the brand through our renewed racing efforts," said Mark Brady, Husqvarna Motorcycles North America President. "That’s why we are thrilled to launch the next decade of Husqvarna Motorcycles success as the Marque Of The Year at this prestigious venue."

Through educational displays and seminars, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days fans will have an opportunity to trace Husqvarna’s rich history, from its humble beginning in Sweden in the early 1900s to the high-tech off-road, motocross, supermoto and dual-sport bikes the company sells and races today. Husqvarna motorcycle will also be a leading brand that racers will test on the track in the multiple racing disciplines scheduled as part of VMD’s celebration.
