Barcia & Baggett… Rookie Wins

SX Race Report

Team Dunlop alumni GEICO Powersports Honda’s Justin Barcia and Rockstar Energy Suzuki’s Blake Baggett have both put in race-winning efforts in their rookie seasons in the 2010 AMA Supercross Lites East Championship.

On Saturday March 13, Barcia successfully raced to the top step of the Toronto Supercross podium to secure his first-ever professional Supercross Lites race victory and the following week it was Baggett who took top honors, winning the Arlington Supercross Lites East event in Texas.

Throughout the 2010 SX Lites East competition, Barcia has successfully raced his way onto the podium three times aboard his Dunlop-shod Honda CRF250R, finishing in third at both Indianapolis and Dallas Supercross races and winning in Toronto, Canada.

In the lead-up to last weekend’s victory, Baggett had successfully raced his Dunlop-equipped Suzuki RMZ-250 to two top-five finishes-a fifth in Atlanta and fourth at the Daytona Supercross events.

Members of Dunlop Tires first-ever Team D amateur racing squad in 2007, Baggett and Barcia have enjoyed the support of Dunlop Tires for many years in both the amateur and professional motocross competitions.

The success Barcia and Baggett earned in the pro ranks puts them well on the path to follow in the footsteps of fellow 2007 Team Dunlop member Ashley Fiolek, the first alumni to clinch a AMA National Championship and first woman to land a ride on Honda’s factory motocross team.
