2010 Italwin Ducati | Electric Bicycle Preview

Ducati Goes Electric

Eurobike, the prestigious international cycle show that is taking place in Friedrichshafen from 2nd to 5th September 2009, has been selected as the location for the unveiling of the new Ducati electric bicycle by Italwin. The new electric bicycle is created as a result of a three-year licensing agreement between Ducati Motor Holding and the Italwing Group, which sees the two Italian companies, both leaders in their respective sectors, working in close synergy.

The product is City Pearl, a name which hints at its functionality, and aims to satisfy a demanding and knowledgeable public, with the express intention of revolutionizing the entire electric bicycle market. City Pearl combines pleasing aesthetics with technology, eco-sustainability and innovation, making it the ideal form of transport for those who want to travel with style, speed and without stress, even in zones with restricted access.

A jewel of design and technology, there is both the men’s and women’s version of the Ducati electric bicycle. Creating out of collaboration between the Italwin designers and the Ducati Design Centre, the bicycle looks fantastic while also featuring technical characteristics that highlight the experience and credibility of the Italwin Group.

ITALWIN products have proved a success not only with regard to their reliability, but also for the great attention the company pays to customer service, providing clients with an alternative and eco-sustainable mode of transport.

The Ducati electric bicycle features an exclusive hydro-formed frame, in a choice of colours and offering a high level of performance. The Panasonic lithium battery, lodged on the rear luggage rack, also houses the electronics and this contributes to the elegant line so much so that at first glance it appears to be a traditional bicycle.

The Ducati electric bicycle is an inimitable object of desire thanks to a combination of aesthetics, technology, innovation and eco-sustainability.

Both models on show at EUROBIKE will be exhibited to the public later in the year during the two important shows of EICMA in Milan (18th-21st September EICMA Bici and 10th-15th November EICMA Moto). The bicycle is expected to go on sale from January 2010 (for the European Market), and will be available via a selected network of retailers in the cycle sector and via a selection of Ducati stores.
