Chad Reed targets Houston Supercross

Reed Injury(s)

Chad Reed’s return to Supercross at Daytona was short lived. Reed was able to make it through both practice and qualifying in which he clearly demonstrated his speed and skills by posting the fastest class time on his new Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F.

Unfortunately Reed was not start the main SX event. Reed crashed in one of the Daytona practices and broke the end of his thumb. This is a new thumb injury on top of healing wrist injury.

Chad Reed showed-up at the Dallas Supercross last weekend with the intent of racing. After further review of his physical condition, the decision was made to not to race.

Chad Reed Quote

"I’m still working hard to come back during the Supercross season," said Reed. "I want to come back as soon as I can, but I also want to make sure I am 100 percent. It is really week to week, but I’m riding now and we’re going to do some outdoor testing soon."

At this point, Reed will miss the March 27th Supercross event at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. His new target is to return on April the 10th for the SX race at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

With no chance to win the 2010 AMA / FIM Supercross Championship, Reed looks to support his teammate Ryan Villopoto in his quest to over take Ryan Dungey in the final 5 rounds:

April 10 – Reliant Stadium – Houston, TX
April 17 – Edward Jones Dome – St. Louis, MO
April 24 – Quest Field – Seattle, WA
May 1 – Rice-Eccles – Salt Lake City, UT
May 8 – Sam Boyd Stadium – Las Vegas, NV

As well, we are getting the sense that both Chad Reed and James Stewart with both return healthy for the outdoor 2010 AMA Motocross season. The motocross world is waiting eagerly for that pending showdown.
