2010 Carole Nash Motorcycle Live: Off Road

UK Off-Road Motorcycling

Carole Nash Motorcycle Live is going off-road with a schedule packed full of activities for those looking to hit the dirt instead of the tarmac. The T+MX and DBR Off-Road Zone will offer a whole host of interactive features and with a dedicated motorcycle Dirt Day on Saturday Dec. 4, Carole Nash Motorcycle Live has more off-road content than ever before.

Dirt Day will present the exciting world of off-road with an all-star cast of riders in attendance. World MX1 Kawasaki racer Sebastien Pourcel and Yamaha motorcycle MX2 star Gautier Paulin will both appear alongside British Motocross Championship KTM riders Zach Osboune, Martin Barr, Jake Nicholls and Nathan Parker.

Stars from the world of Trials and Enduro will also join the day, taking part in a special off-road themed Question of Bikes with Steve Parrish and Jamie Whitham’s MX Q&A.

While Dirt Day focuses attention on the final Saturday, visitors can head to the T+MX and DBR Off-Road Zone anytime during the nine-day event to get involved, and the good news is it’s all absolutely free.

Children from the age of six can have a go on the 50m x 10m inflatable lined track at the Suzuki Off-Road Experience. Aspiring motorcycle riders can tackle a series of challenging corners and bumpy straights, all overseen by qualified Moto-X coaches.

With the kids taken care of, adults can head out on a specially designed indoor motocross circuit at the Yamaha Off-Road Experience, all under the guidance of former Motocross Grand Prix rider Barry Johnson.

Swap dirt for muddy trails at the Yamaha Enduro Experience, which takes riders out into the woodland surrounding the NEC. With 10-times British Enduro Champion Geraint Jones at the helm, this is sure to be a motorcycle experience you will never forget.

If Trials motorcycle riding is your thing – or if you think it could be your thing – the ACU will be running twice-daily demonstrations showcasing the extreme clutch and braking control required. Visitors over 16 will then get the chance to sign up for a trials bike lesson to see if they have what it takes to master this skillful discipline.

After all that exertion, you may be in need of a rest but that doesn’t mean the adrenaline seeking has to stop. Head down to the Ramp’D Up Freestyle Motocross Arena to see the professionals in action. Britain’s top freestyle riders Chris Birth, Kris Brock and Jamie Squibb will put on a jaw-dropping display of aerial antics that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Finlay McAllan (Managing Director of event organizers, MCIE) says: “Dirt Day is a great addition to Carole Nash Motorcycle Live. While we remain fully committed to the off-road scene for the duration of the Event, it’s good to focus attention on one specific day and be able to bring star riders like Pourcel and Paulin along.”

“With the support of T+MX and DBR, all very latest off-road bikes on display and the chance for anyone to try their hand at off-road riding, this year’s Event is a must-visit event for anyone interested in off-road bikes.”

Carole Nash Motorcycle Live runs from Nov 27 – 5 December 2010. Tickets are £15 ($24) in advance for adults, £10 for Seniors, £5 ($8) for children aged 11-16 and kids under 10 go free. All riding experiences are free. The Ramp’d Up display is £5 ($8) per person.

For Yamaha Off-Road and Enduro Experiences, participants must have some experience of having ridden a clutch-operated motorbike. For the ACU trials lessons, riders must have a valid DVLA motorcycle licence or current CBT certificate. Participation is subject to availability and can only be booked at the event. Age and height restrictions apply.
