AMA Supercross season recap airs May 3 on CBS Sports

After one of the most exciting seasons in the history of the sport, the 2009 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, will be presented in a season recap on CBS Sports, Sunday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. EST.

The one-hour recap show will showcase all the highlights of the historical fights for the 2009 AMA Supercross class championship and AMA Supercross Lites class regional championships. Every battle and every controversial moment will be remembered and CBS Sports will take the viewer back to Anaheim 1 for a race-by-race rundown of the most epic season in recent history.

Also featured on the show will be rider interviews and behind-the-scenes footage that will put the finishing touches on an edge of your seat season.

After the Salt Lake City race, Team San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart extended his slim points lead to six points over arch rival Chad Reed and his Rockstar/Makita Suzuki. Following some in-race controversy over the recent weeks, these two warriors will settle the score this weekend in Las Vegas after a lengthy and exciting four-month battle.

The two hotly contested AMA Supercross Lites class championships will also be broken down and analyzed, giving viewers insight how Christophe Pourcel and Ryan Dungey earned their respective titles.

Added Ken Hudgens, vice president of television and marketing, Feld Motor Sports, "This is a great way to cap off what many believe to be the most exciting season in history. Delivering a one-hour recap show on network television culminates the 2009 season on a national platform where riders, teams and the entire industry are recognized."

All tolled, CBS Sports will have aired nine hours of Monster Energy® Supercross this season, which has enjoyed national-network coverage on CBS Sports since 2006.
