Six months following the acquisition of Husqvarna from BMW by KTM AG, the first new motorcycle rolled off the line at the production plant in Mattighofen, upper Austria.
The first day of production was Oct. 7, and about 75 of Husqvarna’s four-stroke models (FC250-FC450) were assembled.
During that first day, members of the board of KTM AG were at the production plant witnessing the recent acquisition come to fruition.
Speaking of the corporate strategy, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer says: “By the acquisition of the brand Husqvarna, the KTM Group expects an additional growth of approximately 15,000 motorcycles in the next few years.”
And this is exactly what is expected; Husqvarna Motorcycles will produce up to 15,000 motorcycles in the Austrian plant every year. Further upgrade to the production site is expected.
